Overnight Mount Etna volcano on Sicily, in southern Italy, erupted again at the weekend, sending flames into the air and molten lava flowing down its slopes.
The nearby Catania airport had to be closed for a few hours as a precautionary measure but the winds were blowing the ash away from the airport eastwards towards the Ionian Sea so there was minimal disruption from the ash clouds.
